Protein Sludge (Recipe)

You absolutely need to hit your protein macro everyday. Sometimes I have a hard time doing it, due to working three jobs, being a dad and a husband. To get there I use protein isolate powder. (Lower carb than Whey) I like body fortress's super advance isolate protein. It runs bout $20 a tub a Walmart. for 1.33 lbs.

Are there better protein powders? Yes, yes there are. This brand though, fits into my BACON MONEY and is pretty good amino acid- wise. It also doesn't taste like shit like Vega protein.

Though I am going to try a cheaper brand by weight that I was told was great. They sell it here in New Bedford and probably other places too. I think it runs about $55 for a 5lbs tub. The dude at the counter here was pretty chill and helpful.

SCIENCE!

Amino Acids are the building blocks of proteins. You are made of proteins. Therefore, your body structures are just combinations of amino acids. You can make 11 of the 20 naturally inside your body. 9 MUST come from the food you eat (essential amino acids).

When you eat protein you break it apart into it's small pieces (AA's) and use those smaller pieces to build proteins within your own body. AKA you eat muscles to build muscles. and other stuff of course.

If you don't consume enough protein your body breaks apart the proteins already in your body. When this happens you lose muscle mass and you can get amino acid deficiencies. This is true for all diets and lifestyles.

I personally do not like protein shakes, they tend to not keep me full or even satisfied. I feel defeated after sucking one down. So i created this thing! Which as it turns out is already a thing. This version is for keto and the best I have made yet. I try new things all the time, some suck, some rock.

Keto Protein Sludge!

Ingredients and Macros at the bottom

Natural peanut butter, Butter, Coconut oil in a microwave safe dish.

It should look like this after about 20 second in the radiation box. Stir it up together.

Pour your fat over your protein powder of choice.

Mix that mo-fo up! It will be soupy at this point.

I usually add a small amount of sweetener at this step. Does it need it? Probably not. But I like Swerve in all the things.

Add SMALL amounts of almond milk to your soup. This is where the magic happens! it dries out and thickens up as the protein isolate absorbs the almond milk.

Add almond milk until it is almost frosting like.

You can add spices to this (pictured above is pumpkin pie spice), or even cocoa powder.

Shit I guess you could put steak in it too, but that be strange. And lumpy.

Throw it into the freezer for about 10 minutes so the melted fats can solidify. Eat that sludge like cold protein fudge!

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of Natural Peanut Butter (No sugar added!!!)

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon Coconut oil

1 scoop of your favorite low carb protein powder

As much swerve as you like. I usually use 1/2 tablespoon ( or any keto safe sweetener)

less than 1/2 cup of almond milk

Macros:

(These reflect the brands of ingredients I personally use. Adjust accordingly.)

Total Carbs: 10g

Fiber: 4g

Net Carbs: 4g
