So. First off. I LOVE peanut butter.

It is really a problem. If I could bath in this everyday I totally would. That might be gross though.

Peanut butter is a doubled edged sword. It taste like AMAZING. Yes. Amazing is a flavor. But it does contain carbs AND it is pretty high in calories.

When you buy PB on keto, make sure that it is ALL NATURAL. Read the back. Then read it again.

Two Ingredients:

Peanuts.

Salt.

That's it. Nothing else. If it has anything else, put it down on the counter. Tell the jar you are sorry. Kiss it. Then go buy a new jar.

Why is PB great?

  1. Kinda low in carbs at about 4 net per serving

  2. High in fat about 16g per serving

  3. Alright protein 8g

  4. lots of vitamins and minerals. (Vitamin E being a super good one)

I like Teddie Smooth. Not only is the texture great and the taste awesome. They are big supporters of some great things. Best Buddies International. The Greater Food Bank Boston. Trifest for MS & Team Endurance. The wife enjoys Teddie with flax seed.

Pricerite brand Smooth Natural PB is pretty good too. Cheap. Like $1.99. and not bad tasting. Though the texture is much more runny than Teddie. This is USUALLY what I buy for myself because I am cheap.

Why is PB Bad?

Peanut butter can be a downward spiral into a fall off of the keto wagon.

Each tablespoon contains about 14 peanuts!

Than means:

EACH tablespoon is about 100 calories and a serving is like 3 net carbs (Depending on brand)

It is way too easy to eat WAY too much.

I highly suggest NOT eating it out of the jar. Bad news bears. Sad news and disappointment. Delicious disappointment.

Not going to lie.

Use your peanut butter powers carefully. Stay on the light side. Not the Dark side.
