Lots of people think that keto is an expensive lifestyle. The wife and I found out we can make it work and we tend to spend LESS on grocery's and food in general.

We definitely don't go out to eat as much and since our hungry is way down we tend to eat A LOT less during the day.
Below is my list of things I buy cheap and where I have found the best price. Please feel free to comment and add your thoughts as well!
Eggs- Walmart- you can use eggs for SO many keto recipes and they taste damn delicious by themselves. For the protein and fat they are a MUST. (Ps. brown and white eggs are the same, just a different species of hen.)
Chicken thighs or drum sticks- We buy these at stop and shop when they are on sale for .99¢ a pound. Sometimes they are .77¢ a pound! We stock up that freezer until it is brimming with chicken parts. These are dark meat so they are high in fat AND protein.
Blocks of cheese- We tend to buy cheese by the block. It is cheaper and it does not contain starch as an additive to keep it from binding, like shredded cheese does. Normally we buy cheddar. Walmart seems to have the best price on these.
Shredded Mozzarella- We get this at Walmart in 5lbs bags. Yes it has starch added, but the price is awesome. You could freeze half of it so it doesn't go bad. It runs about $12 which is cheaper than anywhere else I have been for that amount.
Frozen veggies- Fresh Veggies are awesome. But they cost so much more than frozen veggies. We buy 4lb bags of broccoli at Stop and shop and brussel sprouts at Walmart.
Butter- Good butter is expensive. Cheap butter is gross. But! we buy Finlandia butter at pricerite when they have it. Only 0.99¢. This is an AMAZING deal. It normally runs $2.99 anywhere else. We buy 10 at a time and freeze them.
Bacon- Lets face it, Bacon is expensive for a small amount of meat. We buy two types in this home unless there is a wicked good deal. Walmart sells irregular cut bacon in a red box, it is called Country Farmhouse. It runs $2.99 a box. Stop and Shop also has a brand like this, I think it is called guaranteed value. Again it is irregular and runs about $2.99.
American cheese- Now american cheese is not the best for keto generally being a carb a slice depending on the brand. But it is so damn good. We buy a big block of Great Lakes for $7 at PriceRite, and separate it into smaller bags.MUCH cheaper than buy a small block at a time. This SAME cheese is about $12 at Market Basket.
Peanut butter- Have I told you I love peanut butter? The cheapest I have found is from PriceRite. It runs $1.99 a jar. Though it is a bit runnier than my favorite (teddie), it is cheap and tasty.
Pork chops and steak - Again, when either of these is on a good sale at Stop and Shop I stock up. Pork chops can run as cheap as 0.77¢ a pound. The steak I see on sale often is London Broil (different cuts), Usually the sale is for $1.99 a pound which is SUPER cheap. Stock up!
Tuna- Tuna is a great protein source. I usually buy whatever is on sale for 0.99¢ a can. Solid or chunk. It stays good for a long time and is great mixed with mayo.
Mayo- Speaking of mayo. We buy store brand from stop and shop. It is tasty and has no sugar. Make sure to check, some brands do!
Avocados- I love avocados, They are a treat if on sale. When they are 10 for $10 I eat them everyday. When they are not on sale, I buy a 4 bag of Mission avocados for $3.99 at stop and shop, Now they are not Hass, but still great.
Coffee- Make your own! We use folders and we buy it at BJ's. It is the cheapest we can find per pound. When Kcups are on sale at Ocean State Job Lot, I tend to pick up a box of Premium Dark by Rio Grande.
Rao's marinara sauce - this ranges from $5.99 - $7.99 in most stores. But PriceRite sells it for $2.99. Tasty and a good price!
Best Money saving tip?- Cook your own food!! Don't buy processed crap.
